The 1999 Pattullo2000 Snowmobile Safari raised and donated over $7,800
to the Friends of all-American Mike Ellsworth (FAME) committee to assist
him in his quest for the Olympic gold medal in the year 2000. The Safari
took place January 28th, 1999 - February 7th, 1999.
A Special Thank you to all those who donated and helped with this event!

The Pattullo 2000 Snowmobile Safari Run has been running for 15 years to raise funds for a variety of charities.  Primary members of the group include George and Betty Pattullo of Caro, MI and Eugene and Joann Putnam of Marlette, MI.  John Putnam and Robert Herron, both from Marlette) have also participated  in the 2000-2500 mile snowmobile runs. This year George and Betty Pattullo's oldest son Pete Pattullo of Longview Texas, will be joining the group.

Most of the run in years past have been to support the American Cancer Society, which raised over $80,000 from the annual event.  Other runs have included raising funds for the restoration of the octagon barn near Gagetown and for the 2000 Olympic hopeful Mike Ellsworth.   The last two years, this year also, have been to help Ellsworth qualify for the Summer Olympic games in Sydney, Australia.

Mike Ellsworth, from Caro, MI, is a two-time Michigan state champion wrestler and a member of the Big 10 Michigan University wrestling team.  Ellsworth is currently on the US wrestling team and has been a resident at the Olympic training camp in Colorado Springs, CO.  Last year he was rated second in the nation.
