Map of our route today!
The dotted line shows the actual route we took today, according to the GPS!
Journey
in a Nutshell
We awoke this morning with temperatures 75 degrees warmer then yesterday,
going from -30 below 0 to 45 above. We got underway about 8:00 A.M. this
morning, We left Longlac, Ontario and traveled east toward Hearst, Ontario,
As you can see on the map above it was a pretty straight shot, traveling
mostly down gas pipeline rightaways. We stopped about half way and met
up with our Support Team (Ono) David Loomis and had a picnic along the
trail. We only saw about 10 other snowmobiles today. We basically
have the trails to ourselves! .We arrived about 4:00 P.M.completing about
160 miles today. We will be heading east toward Hornepayne, Ontario
in the morning for lunch and then back to Hearst this evening.. Everyone
loves to read the emails we get each day... keep them coming, ask us a
question, whatever! just click below

We came upon this snowmobile this morning, just sitting along side the
trail.... John jumped on her and gave her a couple of pulls... she started
right up! After much debate we decided not to trade one of our sleds for
this one. Doe's anyone know what model and year this sled is ???
Here we are taking a lunch break, the Whiskey Jacks (little birds) danced
around us.. looking for morsels. On the menu, Jack Links Jerky and sausages,
string cheese, crackers, cookies and boiled eggs.
John, Pete and Robert played out in the deep snow today, John hit a rock
and broke a halifax bolt (the slider the track runs on) we did emergency
repairs along side the trail... Sure glad it wasn't 30 below 0!
For you Caro Rotarians following this trip, you asked for this picture
of Betty... She kept asking if we had any magizines???
