Map of our route today!
The dotted line shows the actual route we took today, according to the GPS!
Journey
in a Nutshell
We got underway about 8:00 A.M. this morning, We left Manitouwadge,
Ontario and traveled northwest toward Nakina, Ontario, well that was the
plan.. About 10 miles out we noticed that George was taking us southeast,
while the maps said we should be going Northwest...in other words the opposite
direction.... we finally got him stopped and turned around. He still claims
he saw a sign the day before that would have got us there ???? While we
were turning around John decided to see how fast he could go in reverse.
He got going pretty good, but turned the handlebars a little to much and
rolled his sled on top of him....We started running toward him not knowing
if we should grab our cameras or help him.... As you can see we have no
pictures! John survived with no injuries, except for his pride! He also
tried to Snowduche Pete, but only managed to run into a tree. We stopped
for lunch and gas in Caramat, Ontario. We got there about 11:00 A.M., the
only gas station, post office, restaurant, hardware, pool hall, grocery
store, etc.. did not open until noon. We found a local and he called the
owner to come and open up! This town is not even on the map above.
We rode up to Nakina, Ontario and then back down to Longlac for the night.
Snow conditions are excellent up here. We arrived about 6:00 completing
just over 240 miles today. We will be heading west toward Beardmore,
Ontario. Everyone loves to read the emails we get each day... keep them
coming, ask us a question, whatever! just click below

Breaking for Lunch in Caramat, Ontario. We had to wait for the only
place in town to open @ noon!
Does anyone know what this is used for ??? or what it is called??? We know
its some kind of railroad car used by CN railroad.
We had to stop and fix Georges Ski, the wear rod that makes it go straight
down the trail was bent at a right angle. He must have hit a big ROCK!
